Haunted George Hotel in Dorchester on Thames

21 May 2021 (Updated 20 September 2022)

Built in 1495, the George Hotel is believed to be one of the oldest coaching inns in the country.

The hotel is haunted by the figure of a woman dressed in white, who is seen crying or just staring sadly at the four-poster bed in one of the bedrooms.

The reason for this haunting is not known, but the room she haunts is known as the 'Vicar's Room', and the hotel is believed to have been built on the site of an older hospice, both of which may provide clues.
